Hello!

I'm pretty new at camping. When I was growing up my parents were not big on being outdoors, but I just loved it. I now own a small pop up camper but am looking for some furniture to go along with it. I live in Southern Indiana so there are quite a few nice sites that I can visit. I am trying to build up my camping equipment, and I think the next step is some nice outdoor furniture . Do you have any suggestions? I would love some places to start looking for affordable pieces.

Thanks!

The Coleman Deluxe camp chairs sold at WalMart are as good as any Mac chair I own.  We use the Roll-a-Table and Roll-a-Stool furniture as it's rugged and compact.

Having about worn a standard Coleman camp chair out, and tired of the exposed tops of the supports poking me, I got two of the Coleman MAX chairs, about $25 at your local Wallies.   Heavy duty, comfy for us bigger fellas, and TWO cup holders...!   Hehehe, a joke among us minivan drivers.....    Wink
I am still trying out a couple different folding tables, my main requirements being it fits the van without being too bulky, and supports a camp stove and other gear safely.

For those of us who are hiking to our campsites, do you have any recommendations for chairs beyond something that is a cheap aluminum and fabric combination?  IKEA has some awesome items that range from stools, to cool stuff to sit on.  I picked up some of their folding stool / chairs to play my arcade games.

I'd be curious to hear from other die hard campers on some affordable, collapsible chair options.

My Roll-A-Table table and stools can support a stove and the stools have shoulder straps for ease of carrying.  They have been doing yeoman's work at our campsites for over 20 years and are still in excellent condition.  They are made of aluminum and synthetic webbing, there's nothing cheap or flimsy about them.  Can you post pictures of your IKEA gear?

I do it to get away for sure. I like the idea of no TV or computer to distract us. Me bond even more every time we go out. I've been taking my son a lot lately and teaching him bushcraft skills. There's something to say about....silence. The glow of the campfire. The clean smell of the air. Stars. And I like to try out my DIY gear.

Camping is a great way to bond with friends and family.  Getting away from all the hustle and bustle and distractions like TV and other tech stuff, is a great way to get to know someone better.  Being outdoors has a lot of health benefits and it can also be a more economical way to vacation.

Back then, camping has been my way to spend some quality time with my close friends. That was back when I was still in college. Now, I'm seeing it as a way for me to get away from all the things that stress me out and just get some peace and quiet and relax.
