Do you park in rest areas overnite when traveling to a destination. Do truckers give you much hassle when they pull in at the rest area during the middle of the night. I know some truckers that can't stand to see a RV taking up a parking space especialy  when they are out of hours and are required to park and take a DOT break.

A couple of times during the cold season, because all hotels and motels were booked up. Once had to sleep in a Thunderbird with someone who had bad gas. Was not a good experience.

Another time slept under a camper shell at one rest area where a savage brawl took place. We heard the noise but did not involve ourselves. The next morning we found blood and teeth on the restroom floor.

We use rest areas every now and then, especially if we've been on the road for quite some time. So far, we haven't really had any problems with the truckers. In fact, some were actually quite nice. I guess if you go around minding your own business and respecting them (especially since this is somewhat their territory) you'll be fine.
