Yosemite is another great place to camp.  It is family friendly and the scenery is amazing.  I have camped there several times and love it.  For more information on camping at Yosemite, you can visit www.youcancamp.com/featuredestination.php

I have to agree with JBcamps, Yosemite is my favorite place to camp.  The love the views, especially when there is water in the waterfall.  The only problem about Yosemite is that, getting reservation is so hard and you have to book way in advance.

Yes, true, it is most likely because of it's proximity to bay area where people head towards Yosemite over the weekend, which makes it sometimes harder to get the last minute reservations.

I have heard that it is almost easier to get get last minute reservations there than to actually try to reserve a place.  You can go there and press your luck by hoping that someone cancels at the last minute.  A friend of mine swears by this method, while another friend spends an entire day on the first day of phone call reservations, trying to get through to make his reservation.
